We modify a lot of headphones here at custom cans so thought it may be useful or fun for some people if we showed some of what we do. We will have some guides to help you repair your headphones, some design reviews if you are interested to see how headphones are made and some fun headphone projects.

A quick video to show how to fit our new balanced mod for the AKG K712, K701, K702 and others.

Essentially, to make them balanced you need to swap the 3 pin socket for a 4 pin socket. Unfortunately, the original socket is not easy to remove so we have designed a new housing that will make the mod super easy

A quick video to show how to fit our new Drop HD6XX CNC mass loading and damping kit. We also take some measurements to see how the frequency response changes with the various mods.

Unfortunately when I plugged in the test rig , audacity started recording the sound from it rather than my main mic and I did not notice so the sound on the video is a bit off in places

You asked, we listened. Here is a quick how to guide on how to fit our new DIY detachable cable mod kit along with a couple of other mods. This kit will work with the DT770, DT880, DT990, Tygr 300 and other similar models
Obviously.. When doing anything like this there is a chance of breaking something so if you don't feel 100% confident in your abilities I would not recommend trying this but we have tried to make it as easy an painless as possible.
