Description

This is a copper weight which adds mass to the rear of the driver and smooths the airflow slightly. By it’s self it gives more detailed bass and a little bit more sub bass. Ideally it should be combined with the removal of the foam disk on the rear of the driver which will further improve the resolution of these, already, great headphones.

The mod can be fitted with no special tools and can easily be removed in the future.

We have now also updated the kit to include 4 different foam inserts that allow you to tune the bass levels to your own personal taste whilst keeping the extra bass clarity and detail you get from adding the mass loading weight.

I purchased these copper mass loading weights for my Sennheiser HD 650 recently they are fairly easy to fit and without the need for specialist tools. The CNC machined copper mass loading weights look and feel very high quality had have made a significant difference to the sound signature of the HD 650 headphones by giving them more detail in the bass and improved the sub bass performance & has opened up the overall sound in the mids & highs as well….after a long time playing around with the foam inserts that came with the mass loading weights I came to to conclusion that Sennheiser HD 650 with mass loading mod fitted sounds better without any foam inserts in place. Now my HD 650 headphones have gone from a fast car to a McLaren Senna GTR that is the only comparison I can think of….to say that I am happy with the end result is an understatement….excellent work guys! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Easy to fit and made a significant improvement in sound quality. Like the last reviewer, I found that no foam inserts were required for the sound I enjoyed. I run these with all foam and inserts removed.

I found that the best tool for removing the foam insert inside where the wight is fitted was a pair of long, curved pointed tweezers.

Very good value for performace gain. A new cable and pads will complete my upgrade as funds allow.

Have had the rings for couple months now with Drop’s HD6xx. It tightens up the bass and it’s now more controlled and enjoyable. It also opens up the mids and highs now by removing the the foam disk on the rear of the drivers and the rings make them smoother and more focused. I never insert any foams as I feel the HD6xx sound perfectly balance without any of them. But maybe this is just for HD6xx (HD650). Going to order another set for my beloved HD580. Thank you! By the way please work on this mod for HD660s before I have it sold:)
